Sun August 2nd to Fri August 7th
Lakes 5 Days finish.
Thanks to Jon Hateley for some extremely challenging courses on Bigland's wooded slopes on Day 4, where it mainly stayed dry.
We wrapped up the week on Hampsfell's limestone being tested by Simonas Sakalauskas & Fraser Dixon to maintain map contact whilst watching your feet.
We hope to put up some prize giving photos in the next few days.
Hope you all have a safe journey home & see you again for Lakes 5 Days 2030.

Reflections from first 3 days of Lakes 5 Days.
Firstly apologies for the queuing on entering and exiting todays Day 3 parking field.
Thank you for your patience.
I hope that when you managed to start your course you enjoyed the extra challenge provided by the rain and low cloud restricting visibility.
Given that there has recently been a fence erected through the centre of the area then Planner Pete Owens must be commended on still delivering a great technical challenge.
Askham Fell on Day 1 was a replacement area and Planner Paul Watson delivered some great courses in a limited time frame.
Bessyboot and The Combe on Day 2 sit in the Borrowdale Valley which is reputedly the wettest place in England. Not that you would have known during the unexpectedly warm weather – even 48 hours before the weather apps were predicting rain!
Roger Thomas had over 25 visits up and down the slopes in previous years during the creation of the maps and many more whilst planning your courses which I thought were amazing.
Fingers crossed that today was the worst weather day and that the sun will shine on Days 4 & 5.
North West Junior Squad are hosting the Rest Day event tomorrow (Weds 5th) as a Score event on Birkrigg Common, near Ulverston. Online & EOD entries still available – see Rest Day web page for details.
Finally there is still some pre-ordered merchandise to be picked up. Either at Day 4 Enquiries or Day 5 NWJS Cake stall.
