ActivNorth Photography

ActivNorth (Chris Spencer) is the official photographer of the Lakes 5 Days. Links will appear for each days photos after they have been uploaded.

Chris is a freelance photographer who lives in the picturesque town of Forres on the Moray coast of Scotland.  His background career has been an enjoyable and rewarding 30 years with the Royal Air Force.  He currently works as a Rescue Co-ordinator tasking rescue helicopters throughout the United Kingdom.  He established the business ActivNorth Photography in 2013 and will be the Official Photographer for the Lakes 5 in 2014.

Chris has been a regular orienteer and runner since the mid-nineties. A past chairman and committee member of Moravian orienteering club who has previously planned and controlled at the Scottish Six Days and the 2008 British Champs in Culbin Forest.

Orienteering is a colourful and exciting sport which rightly deserves to be captured like any other photographed sport.  Chris has already proven that as an orienteer and a photographer you need to get up close to the action to showcase the dynamic beauty of orienteering for which we all truly enjoy.

His website www.activnorth.com is primarily a sports action photography website that will record some moments from the Lakes 5.  It is a fast and simple way to deliver photos to you.  It will enable you the competitor, your family and your friends to keep photos as lasting memories. ActivNorth will be uploading a large selection of photos taken immediately after each day’s event.  Remaining images from the day will be uploaded after the Lakes 5 is completed. All images in the galleries will be available to be purchased at a very competitive price. On completion of your purchase you will then be directed to download the hi-res image via an email and a link. www.activnorth.com is compatible with most devices including mobile phones.

ActivNorth logoActivNorth is about trying to seize the moment, capturing the drama and to tell a story.  Sports photography is like sport in itself.  You get one chance to get it right then it disappears; it's challenging but extremely rewarding when you get the shots.  Photos from ActivNorth are regularly exhibited in newspapers, magazines, websites and advertising.  A large selection of images from Oban 2011 and Moray 2013 are still available to view and purchase through his website.

The website www.activnorth.com will give you the opportunity to view, purchase and download photographic digital images.  The advanced photography ecommerce is hosted by PhotoDeck that is optimised to sell photos online in an amazingly fast and simple way.  PayPal is used to handle all financial transactions, when you purchase an image from the website a PayPal account is not required should you not have one.  The information page on the website will tell you more about the buying process should you require it.

Chris is keen to receive any comments or suggestions about the work of ActivNorth should you see him during the Lakes5.

And remember don’t forget to smile.
