Camping

Two campsites in Coniston are available for the duration of the competition.

The Coniston Hall campsite is reserving its 'groups' area for the use of orienteers. This part of the campsite is made up up of a number of glades within a woodland area. Camping is possible in the glades or in the woodland itself and several informal groupings can be established. The groups area will only take tents but the main campsite will take camper vans. The campsite is attractively located on the side of Coniston Water with views across the lake. Water and basic toilet facilities are available within the 'groups' area while showers are in the main campsite which is in the adjacent field. To make a booking contact the owner - Mr Brian Wilson - on 01539 441 223 (International +44 1539 441 223). The camping fees are £6.50 per adult and £3 per child (up to age 15) per night. There is also a charge of £2 per vehicle per night.

The Coniston Sports and Social Club is making space available on its sports fields for camping. This location can take tents, and a limited number of caravans / camper vans. Water, waste disposal, toilets, changing facilities and showers are located in the sports club which also has a bar and wi-fi. The camping fees are £5 per unit (tent / caravan / camper van) and £2 per adult per night. (There is no charge for children up to age 15).
